Oil barrel ended at $ 48.36 in New York

Oil prices ended at a slightly down on Friday, January 9 in New York. A barrel of “light sweet crude” (WTI) for February delivery fell 43 cents to $ 48.36 at the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex).
In London, a barrel of Brent North Sea for the same delivery closed at $ 50.11 at the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), in fall of 85 cents.
The tentatives of price increases are due to technical movements “initiated by brokers,” who want to get out of their positions at a loss, said Gene McGillian of Tradition Energy. In addition, a slight weakening of the dollar also helped.
