Opposing views about poverty figures

According to the Coordinator Minister of Economic Policy, Patricio Rivera, the reduction of poverty is one of the greatest achievements of the Government, since due to the social policies, one of three Ecuadorian ceased to be poor (1 million people).However, the Espol Economics and Finance Professor, Xavier Ordeñana, said that poverty reduction had been falling for many years and it is difficult to say that it is a unique merit of this Government. He said that both Ecuador and other Latin American countries experienced low poverty rates.
According to Economic Analyst Fidel Marquez, Rector of Ecotec University, poverty has decreased, but in terms of revenues. Marquez suggests to make an analysis from expenditures generated, to determine whether in that case also poverty has been reduced.
