Unasur headquarters in Quito will be inaugurated in November
With the presence of the Heads of State Council of member countries of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur for its spanish acronym), the inauguration of the agency’s headquarters located in Quito will be performed next November.
This was agreed thanks to Ecuador’s proposal at the meeting of foreign ministers carried out last week in Santa Cruz (Galapagos). The construction cost of the complex is USD 38 million, which was reported to the participating ministers.
This budget will be prepared by experts in the field in three weeks time on a working day agreed by the officials.
Before the meeting, the foreign ministers visited the Center for Reproduction and Breeding of Captive Giant Tortoises of the Galapagos National Park, and became godparents of nine turtles hatched this year.
