On Tuesday, the plane that was transporting Manchester United’s players and coaching staff had to abort its landing due to the presence of another aircraft on the airstrip at the Cologne airport, in Germany.
United Airlines confirmed that there were no injuries and later the aircraft pilot apologized for what happened. Cologne Airport website confirmed that the landing was delayed by 10 minutes.
The English soccer team was heading to the German country for a match against Bayer Leverkusen, for the European Champions League.
“We landed in Germany … barely … I’m recovering from the balked landing!,” tweeted Defender player Rio Ferdinand.
Along with the delegation also traveled the Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia, who plays for the Manchester.
