Police rules out bomb threats in financial platform and Judicial Complex of Quito

Two false bomb threats were registered on Monday, April 16, in the buildings of the Financial Government Platform and the Northern Judicial Complex, located on the Amazonas and Villalengua avenues, north of Quito.

In the face of the threat, the public servants, and citizens in general who were at that moment in the buildings, were evacuated. In addition, for security, the Institute of Higher National Studies (IAEN) and the Social Security Institute of the Armed Forces (Issfa), adjacent to the Platform, were also evacuated.

To respond to the emergency, reported at 2:00 PM, they arrived at the buildings belonging to the Antibombas Squad of the Police Intervention and Rescue Group (GIR). Around 4:00 pm, they discarded the presence of explosives in the Judicial Complex. They also did not report any news in the IAEN and Issfa. Little by little, the workers resumed their activities.

At 18:00, the Police confirmed that after the sweeping of the specialized agents of the Police, no explosive device was found in the Financial Platform. (I)
