Pope Francisco comforts man with disfigured face
Again, Pope Francisco showed great mercy for the most disadvantaged people, after hugging and kissing a man with a completely disfigured face, last Wednesday during a general audience held in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
The man, whose face is deformed as a result of an illness, managed to reach the Pope during his usual approach to his parishioners.
The image of this meeting, where the Argentine Pope embraces and kisses this man, traveled the world in a matter of hours.
During the general audience, attended by about 50 000 people, Francisco comforted other patients with whom he exchanged a few words and expressed his support.
Also, the Pope stopped to bless a disabled child, and also wiped his mouth with a handkerchief, while his mother wept with emotion.
