President Lenín Moreno backs Juan Guaidó and insists on transition of power in Venezuela with general elections

The President of the Republic, Lenin Moreno, expressed his support Tuesday night to the interim president of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, who in the morning summoned all his supporters to take to the streets until Nicolás Maduro leaves power.

Moreno wrote in his Twitter account, statements that were later disseminated by the Secretariat of Communication in a bulletin, which has followed with concern the facts recorded in Venezuela and reiterated “as announced by the chancellor @ValenciaJoseEc, our support for President @jguaido y the call to avoid all kinds of violence … ”

Earlier, Valencia announced that the government of Ecuador was renewing “its firm support for President Juan Guaidó in the difficult moments that Venezuela is going through, we hope for a transitional solution, in peace and without bloodshed, and we will support any international effort in that regard. . ”

The president indicated that this transition should be through a general election in the minor possible time, that guarantees the human rights of all. “Those who are not up to the circumstances will be responsible to their people and international law.”

The protests in Venezuela, which would intensify this Wednesday, May 1, has left dozens injured.
