Presidents Correa and Humala will analyze topics for the benefit of both nations
The Presidents of Ecuador and Peru, Rafael Correa and Ollanta Humala, respectively, meet from 09:00 in the framework of the 8th Binational Meeting. They will do this in the province of El Oro, Arenillas, in the south of Ecuador.
The topics to be addressed in the bilateral meeting will be on terms of investment, tourism, social affairs, defense, environment and energy.
“Advances in the social area and the reduction of troops (military) on both sides will be discussed as well as the joint work of demining, and on artisanal mining. Points agreed will also be reviewed in the peace treaty of Brasilia 1998,” explained Leonardo Arizaga, Deputy Foreign Minister and of Policy Integration.
This presidential meeting is the eighth in 16 years, since the peace treaty was signed.
