Producers Announce mobilization for Thursday, September 8

Producers of the rice sector organize a demonstration for Thursday with the aim of asking the authorities a greater support for agricultural activities.

For his part, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement that the public company “National Storage Unit” is taking on production so that the minimum price is respected.

The statement says that “producers are paid the minimum support price of USD 35.50 per 200 pounds bag with a 20% of humidity and 5% of impurities, agreed on the advisory board of rice (…) last May.”
