Posted On 26 Feb 2015
The Production Coordinator Minister, Richard Espinosa, commited this February 25 to include the food area in the list of sectors that must be strengthened by investment, so that it remains as an important economic actor.
Édison Romo, representative of the food industry of the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises of Pichincha (CAPEIPI), asked the Government to make further investment in this sector, to facilitate access to credits to invest in order to grow the business, and the establishment of an industrial park only for foodprocessing and preparation.
“Import´s substitution is not the only solution to strengthen this sector, but also what is produced is purchased by condition, quality, and not by obligation,” he said.
