Proud of our Ecuadorian Hat

Yesterday Unesco named the straw hat as an intangible heritage for all humanity, which is a reason of joy in all the provinces of Ecuador, especially for the artisans’ community.

Today thanks to the recognition of Unesco, the straw hat is recognized as something proper of Ecuador despite it has the name Panama hat.

This tradition represents a symbol of work and creativity of all the Ecuadorians. The straw hat is the sixth Ecuadorian heritage to the world.
