Quito protests again
The historic center was the place chosen by doctors, workers, housewives, residents of Galapagos and other social groups that came out to protest the afternoon of Thursday, July 2. Guarded by the police, demonstrators carried black flags, balloons and banners.
At another point were the unions. From the Social Security Office hundreds of workers came out to reject the latest government decisions. One of the leaders, Mesias Tatamuez said that the protest was peaceful and did not pretend to overthrow the president.
This march, that took several blocks away from the 10 de Agosto avenue, August 10, was joined by other social organizations. The slogans against the president were listened until the Plaza de Santo Domingo. The march ended there without incidents.
