Quito will elect the country’s Indian Queen

25 candidates representatives of indigenous nationalities and peoples of Ecuador will participate
in the Andean Indian Queen or Ñusta election in Kichwa , or indigenous leader , in Spanish.
The aim of the contest is to strengthen and disseminate indigenous cultural identity, says Inti
Daquilema, one of the organizers. The participants made three starts in opening suit in casual
clothes ( which they use in their community ) andhis ancestral clothing.
The gala will be held at 20:00 in the agora of the House of Ecuadorian Culture, Quito and admission is free.
