Rafael Correa will travel to Qatar today

President Rafael Correa plans to travel to Qatar today, where he will serve an official visit on 22 and 23 October.

This visit would occur in response to an invitation from the Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, last year when he visited Ecuador.

Correa said in recent days that Qatar is very interested in strengthening bilateral relations with Ecuador and invest in the country.

Government sources said that the president will meet with business leaders and visit the Science and Technology Park.
