Registration of media could be approved by January

Paulina Mogrovejo, member of the Council for the Regulation of Information in the Assembly said yesterday that the priority of the organization is the regulation of Media Registry by January, foreseen by the Organic Communication.

Mogrovejo added that this regulation must be defined as the Council needs to know how many media exist in the country and what they do in order to establish public policy.

The agency has already approved three regulations, the first relates to the criteria for a given frequency communication systems projects audio and video subscription and the second for private and community media.

While the third regulation governs the process of complaints and grievances against the media. The latter was given to the Superintendent of information.
