Royal Prank DJs ‘We Just Want To Say Sorry

Mel Greig and Michael Christian, both Australian broadcasters from radio station 2Day FM, were interviewed by a local television network and reiterated how they were “shattered” because of Jacintha Saldanha death.

On Wednesday, December 5, both broadcasters made a prank call, where the victim was King Edward VII Hospital nurse , Jacintha Saldanha. Greig and Christian posed as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles with the purpose of getting some data about the Duchess of Cambridge pregnancy.

Seldanha was the one who picked up the phone and passed the call to another employee who told details about the Kate status. The Duchess was admitted in the the center for presenting morning sickness. On Friday 7, the nurse was found dead -apparently a suicide- in a house very close to the medical center.

During the interview, Mel Greig and Michael Christian broke into tears during their apology to Jacintha Saldanha family.

The two presenters, who until now had avoided public appearances , explained that they have lived with “anguish” since Saturday morning when they found about the death of Seldanha (46) and mother of two children.
