Santos expects the removal of Cuba from the list of countries that support terrorism
The President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, trust in the output of Cuba from the US list of countries that support terrorism, saying that the process to achieve it “is going in the right direction.”
In a joint press conference in Madrid with the Head of the Spanish government Mariano Rajoy, Santos hailed the decision of US President Barack Obama, to restore relations with Cuba as a key step for the output of the country from this list.
The restoration of diplomatic relations with Cuba was “a very important step, very audacious, very brave and very necessary,” said the president.
He highlighted that this decision of Obama “has a profound and positive impact on the relations between the US and Latin America.”
“Therefore, something in that direction has to be given and it corresponds to the two countries” to decide this, he said, referring to the United States and Cuba.
