Sales of new cars in Ecuador increased in 2014, according to the CAN

The export of vehicles in Ecuador would have grown by 28.5% between January and December 2014, according to the Andean Community of Nations (CAN for its Spanish acronym).
Last year, sales of the Ecuadorian market totaled 8,368 cars, while in 2013 these were 6,514. Colombia was the destiny of those sales. The most demanded brands were Kia and Chevrolet.
In Ecuador, the production of cars and trucks of the Chevrolet brand, assembled by Omnibus BB was a total of 46,624 units, which represented 74.4% of total production by the national assembly, followed by Kia with 16.1% and Mazda with 9.5%.
For imports of new vehicles, Ecuador showed a decrease of 1.6% in contrast to the countries of the Andean Community, compared with the previous year.
