Minister of Labour proposes restructuring of Secap in expanded cabinet
A new structure to modernize the training provided by the Ecuadorian Professional Training Service (Secap for its Spanish acronym) will be one of the issues that Carlos Marx Carrasco, Labour Minister, will present during the extended cabinet that will be held this March 3 since 6:00 am at the Carondelet Palace.
Carrasco said that the Secap, by playing a key role in the field of vocational training, “is not competitive or complementary to the formal education system.” So heexplained that this studies centre has to restructure, even for the change of the productive matrix. With this background, he noted that in these days, they are giving courses to repair induction cookers, that contribute to the change of matrix.
The Secretary of State added that training for drivers who have lost points on their licenses is even contempled. “I am convinced that the Secap should improve and fulfill its role,” he reiterated.
