‘Saved by the Bell’ The Movie
On the screen, the Bayside High School students were close friends, partners and confidants, but outside there was a lot tension and drama, at least according to Lifetime.
The television network is producing The Unauthorized Story Saved by the Bell, a look behind the iconic program of the nineties, with actors who will supply the original stars.
Lifetime TV movie describes as “a nostalgic look at the TV series that changed Saturday mornings with the favorite teens of America“, which addresses the experience of six unknown actors who suddenly are famous, and explains the challenges of growing under public scrutiny while trying to maintain the image of impeccable characters, on and off screen.
The first clip from the film debuted Thursday. Acclimating with the hit Bell Biv DeVoede Poison, the video shows the cast of Saved by the Bell shooting promotional images of the show and gives hints of the tension between the actors.
The newcomer, Alyssa Lynch becomes Tiffani Amber Thiessen (who played Kelly Kapowski) and appears flirting with the male protagonist, Dylan Everett who acts as Zac Morris (Mark Paul Gosselaar). Both pose for photos while Lark Voorhies (who plays Lisa Turtle) makes Thiessen get jealous.
Voorhies is comforted by Elizabeth Berkley (Tiera Skovbye) who tries to keep the peace among female costars.
When the girls go to the photo shoot begins the tension between the actors. In the style of AC Slater, Mario Lopez (played by Julian Woks) appears doing lizards on set. And the actor Screech, Dustin Diamon (Sam Kindseth) tries to show his strength as well.
The original cast of the show have said little publicly about the film When the project was announced in June, Lopez simply tweeted: “Really?” Berkley spoke to Us Weekly about the project. “I’m not very curious about that, actually We know that life we had was so innocent. Our parents were on set with us every day and it was all very innocent. It was a different time so I have no idea. It is not our real journey on the show together”,he said.
