Secom ordered nation-wide broadcasts in favor of the ruling party
The National Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency (Secom for its Spanish acronym) yesterday ordered radio and television stations from 18:30 to link in a 90 minute-long broadcast to witness the opening of ECU-911 system, located in the Itchimbia park, central Quito.
Through a document, the Secretariat said: “According to the provisions of Article 59 letter a) of the Law on Radio and Television; 63, 66 and 70 of its General Regulations, the transmission of the nation-wide TV and Radio broadcast where it is detailed the hour and half of lenght, is provided. ”
The ECU-911 system in the capital, is the fourth unit of the security service provided by the government of Rafael Correa. The other three buildings are in Guayaquil, Cuenca and Esmeraldas.
