Security Cameras will Monitor 9 “Regional Centers” in Ecuador

An immediate response of relief is the goal of integral security system (SIS-911) that within 3 years will be implemented nationwide. The investment must be at least of 100 million dollars and it will be in charge of the State Ministry of Security.

With a call to 911 number, citizenship may have an immediate response from firefighters, ambulance personnel of public and private systems, police and even the army, if necessary. The Ministry picked up experiences gained in large cities like Beijing. In fact this technology will come from China.

The national centers will be located in Quito and Guayaquil, and 7 regional centers. Under this view, in each of the circuits there will be constructed units of the Community Police. Around Guayaquil 1,500 cameras will be placed because it is a big city.

Yesterday, the secretary of state signed agreements with municipalities for Durán, Milagros and Samborondón. Until next October about 50 cameras will be installed in each of the aforementioned counties. The location is about to be defined.

The modern system will allow mobile and cellular phones connections. This will be accompanied by rules which drastically punish those who use the service for false calls. The sanctions would go together with the withdrawal of the phone line and the payment of mobilization.
