Senae trains couriers of Guayaquil on the 4X4 system application
The National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senaefor its Spanish acronym), convened yesterday the couriers domiciled in the city of Guayaquil to give them a talk training on the implementation of the 4X4 system.
The 4X4 shipment system, which was reformed, shall take effect from October 9, and from that date it will be a limit of 12 packages per year for migrants who register with the Virtual Consulate of the Chancellery of Ecuador, and a limit of five packages for users who purchase products abroad and wish to import under this scheme. The latter will have to pay a fee of $ 42 per package.
In the case of migrants, their shipments are exempt from the fee until the quota of 12 is completed.
The regulations Director of Senae, Juan Francisco Rodríguez, indicated that on the website of the Customs Office a system to check if the citizen has reached his limit of shipments has been implemented. The system has two options: migrant courier consultation and consignee courier consultation.
About the time that the courier shall pay the rate of $ 42, it was explained that once the company has made the customs declaration, the Customs Office shall make the charge. If the information does not match the consular registration, the package may not continue the process of customs clearance.
