Chancellor of Colombian expects European visa exemption the first semester of 2015
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombian, Maria Angela Holguin said this Tuesday it expects the visa exemption for to Colombians traveling to the European Union (EU) be produced in the first semester of 2015.
Colombian Foreign Minister on official visit to Spain, said that currently the EU and Colombian authorities are developing the technical aspects of data collection and stressed that main thing is that the political decision, “is already taken.”
“In four years we have managed to eliminate in ten countries visa to Colombians. (…) We remain committed so that our countrymen feel they can travel anywhere and that have Colombian passport is not a problem,” said Holguin.
The minister recalled that in the first year since the visa requirement was lifted on Colombians to travel to Mexico, tourism there increased by 35%.
“I do not know if it increased so much because travel is more expensive here in Spain, but certainly will be significant numbers,” said during a press conference in the Colombian consulate in Madrid.
