Posted On 30 Apr 2016

“I work in Pedernales (in shrimp farms) is in excess, the problem is that people have gone by the earthquake. “So categorizes the situation of that canton, in Manabi, Oswin Crespo, owner of about 15 shrimp farms.

Of the 18 permanent workers who had, there are only 5, the rest returned to their families in other cantons. “There are no people to fish, or for reconstruction,” laments Crespo, who is also director of the Cooperative Pedernales shrimpers.

Account that 62% of the walls of their pools were affected, lost bombs, houses (which housed workers) and a pool of 6 hectares.

Cristhian Fontaine, another shrimper in the area, lost a pool and $ 15 thousand in production must also repair thousand linear meters of walls and perform preventive work (I).
