Sinaloa Cartel controls the drug in Ecuador
Drug operations in Ecuador have made it an ideal location to smuggle drugs to the United States, Europe and Asia. These statements were made by the Colombian magazine Semana, in a report titled “The Sinaloa cartel rules in Ecuador,” the text that was published yesterday.
The report cited as evidence the 42 tons of drugs seized this year in various operatives in Ecuador. It also adds that in foreign lands it have been seized more than five times that amount in shipments from the country. These goods would cost approximately $ 5,000 million.
“The Mexican cartels have moved from being brokers to own the business, and you are in Ecuador, located very close to the raw materials,” said the publication.
Juan Carlos Barragan, national director of Narcotics, confirmed to the newspaper El Universo, “The Sinaloa Cartel or the Gulf and the activity of Mexicans has been here and will be here as long as there is cocaine production and market consumption. As long as Colombia, Bolivia, Peru produce 100% cocaine to the world, the Mexicans are coming.”
