Social aid bonus increase will cost $ 89 million to the state

The Government will allocate $ 383.03 million in 2018 for the BDH (Bono de Desarrollo Humano for its Spanish acronym/ Social Aid Bonus), which means an increase of 30% compared to the amount allocated in 2017, that would represent $ 89 million. Finance Minister Carlos de la Torre announced it at a press conference on the state budget and a bill to boost the economy, which is already under the analysis the Legislature.
The Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES) has reported that 125,000 households in extreme poverty are currently receiving the bonus. A classification by level of vulnerability has been made based on these figures. For example, in this group there are 5,317 single mothers with children under 5 years old, who will be the first beneficiaries of the increase offered by Moreno during his campaign. (I)
