Spain wants donate $ 100 million for the reconstruction of Ecuador
Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo today announced that Spain will assist the reconstruction of Ecuador after the devastating earthquake of last April and is working to provide an aid package of about $ 100 million.
Garcia-Margallo made the statements at the press conference he offered alongside his Ecuadorian counterpart Guillaume Long, with whom he met Thursday in Madrid.
Both Ministers celebrated the significant progress in the peace process in Colombia, in which the Ecuadorian diplomacy has played an active role, Garcia-Margallo said.
Guillaume Long said that Ecuador can play an important role in this process, but made it clear that the country is not seeking “a leading role” and added that his country is ready to “continue to support this noble cause: peace in Colombia.”
