Sweden rejects at the UN the recommendation from Ecuador on Assange´s case

Sweden rejected a recommendation made by Ecuador on the Julian Assange case, according to a document known as the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), to which all UN members must undergo, which was released this Wednesday by the UN in Geneva.

Ecuador recommended to Sweden to “streamline mechanisms for international legal cooperation in the judiciary and prosecution bodies, to ensure the due process, specifically in cases where the affected person is protected by a decision of asylum or refugee status.”

Assange remains refugee in the Ecuadorian embassy in London from August of 2012.
