Technological equipment will pay tariffs of 5% and 15%

After that last December 29, the Committee of Foreign Trade (Comex) approved the increase in the tariffs percentage on 588 products, including keyboards, memories, printers, calculators, laptops, etc; the tariff increase was set between the 5% and 15% in technological equipments.

In the case of the departure of data processors (computers, laptops …),  the tariff went from 0 to 10%. Local sellers of technology believe that this will impact the prices.

The tariff amendment came into effect last January 12, but the Customs Office began to implement them last 15. After that date, all imports on which Resolution 51 was applied shall pay the new rate.
