Technological products would increase costs in this week by tariff surcharges
The owners of technological products stores expect to raise costs from this week. From today, many businesses are receiving the merchandise with an increase due to the tariff surcharges, effective from March 11.
The Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil identified at least 50 subheadings of 2961 with surcharges, which relate to items for processing and storage.
Memory units, data storage devices based on semiconductors (flash cards) and smart cards are included in the group. Another group includes printers,faxes, laptops, electronic calculators, copiers, keyboards, etc.
For this group of subheadings the tariff surcharge is 5% for smart cards; 15% for goods such as laptops, memory units, office copiers, electronic calculators and keyboards; and 45% for flash memory cards.
