The Citizen Observatory is formed

The Citizen Observatory, designed to monitor and supervise the Electoral Function and the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control was formed this Monday, according to Sections 61.2, 61.5 and 96 of the constitution of 2008, and its members integrate it voluntarily.
The National Electoral Council, the Litigious Electoral Court and the Council of Citizen Participation will be controlled by this entity, whose establishment, according to Fausto Camacho, Coordinator of the observatory, will contribute “from the citizenry jurisdiction to guarantee participation rights constitutionally established for all the citizens, as well as contributing to the transparency of the acts of those who make the observed instances.”
The observatory is formed by Jorge Acosta, José María Cabascango, Monica Cevallos, Miriam Ernst, Andrés León, Francisca Morejon, Medardo Oleas, Irene Pesantez, Enrique Pita, Isabel Proaño, Sócrates Quinteros, Germán Rodas, Omar Serrano, Pamela Troya and Anunziatta Valdez, who have held public positions before.
