This cultural group will seek the release of those arrested in the demonstrations in August 2015 and the filing of their processes.

The initiative is from ‘The 10 of Luluncoto,’ ‘The Three of Cotopaxi’ and citizens who are considered “politically persecuted.” They include Assemblyman Pepe Acacho and the teacher Mery Zamora.

The cultural agenda for reporting on the arrests of social activists begins today and tomorrow, in Toacazo, Cotopaxi. On the 8th they will go to Cuenca, they will be in Loja with “The 26 of Saraguro” in the 9th, the 14th they will be in Quito and they will participate in the mobilization of social organizations on September 16th. “The comrades are social fighters, they are not criminals or terrorists or saboteurs, they are just protesting,” said Severino Sharupi, leader of Conaie.
