The debt Correa contracted goes to audit

The findings of Lenin Moreno in the national accounts ignited the alarms of the control agencies. The National Audit Office, for example, signed a request on Monday for a special audit of debts contracted by the State from 2012 to May 24 of this year. That is, until the last day of the administration of Rafael Correa.

According to the official document of the control agency, the examination will be executed within 180 working days and will analyze the “legality, sources and uses of domestic and foreign public debt.” The institutions audited will be the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, the Secretariat of Planning and Development (Senplades) and “other state agencies related to contracting and the use” of funds obtained through borrowing.
