After hearing the report that reveals losses for $ 23 million in the seized TV channels Gamavisión and TC Television, the reactions did not wait. Comptroller General Pablo Celi, in brief statements to the press, said that the control body carries out a special examination of the situation of the public media.
The report presented last Tuesday by the general manager of Public Media Andrés Michelena revealed that only Gamavisión has sustained losses of $ 17 million since 2008, the year in which it was seized. TC has the same problem with $ 6 million.
An anonymous employee of Gamavisión said that the situation of the channel is uncertain and of concern. “We do not know what will happen with those shares they sold to us and that we naively acquired. We were deceived by the government of (Rafael) Correa,” lamented the employee. Workers fear that the debts of the channel must be borne by the employees who have the shares. (I)
