The New York Times criticizes U.S. immigration policy
Posted On 09 Apr 2014
The New York Times criticized the immigration policy of U.S. President Barack Obama, and called the White House to end the mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.
For the media is “frustrating” to see how the “promises” of Obama on immigration are still not become a reality, while the President is limited to expressing his “impotence” or “blame others”.
The newspaper recalls that with almost two million deportations in recent five years, “the Obama administration is deporting people at a higher rhythm than occurred with any other president.”
In response to The New York Times, the White House spokesman, Jay Carney said the administration has made it clear that the work of the Executive is to carry out the laws passed by Congress.
