Doctors will make another vigil if there is no response from the Court

The new directory of the Ecuadorian medical Federation (FME) adopted its work plan for the next two years. The priority is still the interpretative clause that the National Court of Justice (NCJ) has to make to article 146 of the Comprehensive Criminal Organic Code (COIP), which punishes the manslaughter by professional malpractice.
They insist that the third paragraph could cause the criminalization of their profession by an inadequate interpretation of the judges. Therefore, on April 24 they called for a new national vigil to pressure the Court by the procedure.
The second thing on the agenda will be to complete the negotiation process with the Executive and the legislature for the adoption of a special chapter in professional health responsibility of the new health code, which is expected to resume its discussion in the middle of year.
Likewise, they will continue along with the International Public Services (ISP), the fight to raise awareness of the violation cases of rights of freedom of Association and labour rights before the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
