The Port Authority of Guayaquil seeks to develop the port with 6 projects
Ecuadornews:
Guido Ferretti has been in charge of the Port Authority of Guayaquil since July and in less than four months, he has redesigned and implemented a development plan to consolidate the port activity for the next 20 years, whose backbone would be, according to him, a bridge and the new canal dredging.
The 6 projects seeking port development are
– A Special Zone of Economic Development.
– A shipyard.
– The extension of the Center for Heavy Transportation from 180 to 800 trailers.
– A container warehouse.
– The Higher Technological Institute focused on materials linked to the port activity.
– The recovery of locks for tourism purposes and tidal control.
According to Ferretti, the objectives would be to become the first port jurisdiction of the region through public-private partnerships. (I)
