The telethon raised $ 1.5 million

With a total amount of 1′ 525.139 dollars, which will be directed to the children who need to be operated, was closed  the twenty-second edition of the Telethon, organized by the Telethon Foundation for life, with the support of the municipality of Guayaquil.

The director of the Foundation, Pascual Del Cioppo, said that an agreement was signed with the clinic of the University of Navarra (CUN), in Spain, to attend the children abroad when needed.

The organisers aspired to a goal of a million dollars, but the sum was exceeded  with donations that were delivered from 10:00 until 18:00 yesterday, at the Art Centre Theatre of Guayaquil, where there were performances of national and international artists such as Gerardo Mejía, Tiko Tiko, Daniel Betancourt, Mirella Cesa, Pamela Cortes, Zambuca, Nata Cassete and  Los Monkey Puppets, French Possieri, Time Project Band, Jenny Villafuerte, Francisco Echeverria, Alberto Plaza, Juan Fernando Velasco, Fanny Lu and Electric Light Orchestra.
