The world questions investments in larger vessels

Since the beginning of the last financial crisis, particularly since 2009, the economic, commercial and transport and logistics activity was affected in the world. The levels of economic activity were resenting and trade began to decline, according to the ECLAC and the UN.
Even though 2010 recorded some recovery after a sharp decline in 2009, from 2011 onwards the trend of decline in volumes traded in the international commerce of goods was upheld.
Freight showed an almost continuous fall (with the exception of 2010) and on average, on some routes, they fell from the third quarter of 2008 until the same period in 2014, the equivalent of 60%.
