There are 3,735,912 mothers in Ecuador according to the INEC

A report by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), said that there are 3,735,912 mothers in Ecuador according to a survey on living conditions elaborated last year and the births database which is permanently updated.
It is indicated that four out of ten mothers are married, 27% in non-marital cohabitation, 13% separated, 3% divorced, 7% widows and 9% single.
It also pointed out that two out of ten Ecuadorian mothers are heads of households, and the coastal province of Guayas (whose capital is Guayaquil) is the one with more women in that condition (29.9%), followed by Pichincha (capital Quito ) with 17.7%, and Manabi with 9.1%.
