Today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Maria Felix

María Félix, better known as La Doña, actress of the golden age of Mexican cinema in the 50s, was born a day like this 100 years ago.
Born as Maria de los Angeles Felix Guerena, on April 8, 1914, at Sonora, Mexico, throughout her 30 years career, she worked in 47 films, including `El peñón de las lágrimas´,` Doña Bárbara´ and `Tizoc´, where she plays women of strong character, which became her characteristic seal.
She also collaborated in Spanish, Italian and French productions, becoming highly acclaimed in Europe.
Maria Felix died on April 8, 2002 in Mexico City, from a cardiac failure. In her native country, several commemorative events will be held, including a tribute in the next edition of the Ariel awards.
