Turkey’s potential

Turkish is open to the world market, but still very restricted for Ecuadorian products of greater importance. Hence, the jewel in the crown, bananas, pay a 144.5% tariff.
And banana growers want to open that lock to also enter other countries that supply from there.
Of the 195 million dollars Ecuador sold until November last year, 97.69% was bananas. The half remains in that country and the rest is re-exported by Turkish brokers to nearby markets (Iran, Afghanistan, Syria).
