Two Ecuadorian Journalists Win The King of Spain International Prize For Journalism
Today, Ecuadorian journalists Héctor Hernán Higuera and Antonio Eduardo Narvaez received the King of Spain International Prize for Journalism in the category of TV for the live broadcast during the police uprising in 2010 (30S).
Higuera and Narvaez obtained the award thanks to the “September 30: between life and death” 128 minutes program, which was broadcasted by Ecuavisa on September 30, 2010.The footage shows the military organized to allow President Rafael Correa to leave the Police Hospital in Quito.
“The jury awards a work of great media interest in Ecuador’s recent history,” says the jury of the XXIX edition of the awards, which annually make a call to Efe Agency, the Spanish Agency for International Development (AECI).
The King of Spain International Journalism Award in the TV category is endowed with $ 7,600 and a bronze sculpture of artist Joaquin Vaquero Turcios.
