Two out of seven provided codes have been approved in the Assembly
Of seven codes that were provided to be treated this year in the National Assembly, according to the agenda of the ruling party, one has been ruled out “at the moment”: the Labour Code.
Three are in official procedure : Process, Health and Environmental. Two have been approved: Criminal and Monetary. And one still in the Executive: Social Economy of Knowledge.
To these, two possible join: Cultures. The Executive offered to send a new code to replace the project Law of Culture that rests in the Assembly; besides it would come from the the union between the Law of Rural Land and Ancestral Domain, the Law of Management and Use of Land and the Law of Communes, whose possibility was also made public by President Rafael Correa in a weekly address .
Even though the Commission of Worker Rights toured the country getting observations for the construction of the Labour Code since September 17, they would have begun with the process of systematization of comprehensive proposals, the government’s decision to only send reforms disrupted the legislative process.
