Unasur analyzes defense against transnational companies
On Wednesday, delegates of members of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur for its Spanish acronym) and the Caribbean and African countries, met in Caracas to discuss strategies to help defend their interests against transnational corporations.
“The South needs to have a common strategy, that our countries can share experiences and establish mechanisms that allow us to fight with these situations that most often result in aggression or interference that directly threaten the political, social and economic stability of our various countries,” said the newly appointed Venezuelan Foreign Minister Rafael Ramirez.
At the international meeting, “the state of international disputes in terms of investment will be discussed, at regional and global levels, through the identification of procedures to monitor the action of global arbitration tribunals,” he explained.
