Unified salary for 2015 will be $ 354
The Minister of Labour, Carlos Marx Carrasco, today announced an increase of $14 for the unified salary, which will increase to $ 354.
Carlos Marx Carrasco justified his decision to increase only 4.11%, noting that “with the appreciation of the dollar and the huge differences between our salaries with those of neighboring countries, we must do everything to maintain the employment levels,” he said .
Figures from the Ministry indicate that those who earn the new unified basic salary amounted to 564,468 workers.
The proposal of employers for the increase was of 3.90%; ie $ 13.26, while workers demanded a 11% increase, which would mean about $ 30.
The branches of workers to whom the unified basic salary will be applied are those of: gas distribution, auxiliary service workers, unpaid household workers, craft workers and operators of small businesses. He also noted that for the public sector an increase is not expected.
