What positions does the US Embassy offer?
In total there are eight positions that the US diplomatic corps offers in Ecuador , with salaries ranging from USD 21,195.5 to USD 42,391. Please note that these salaries are per year.
Five of these positions are offered to work at the embassy in Quito, while the remaining three are for the Consulate General in Guayaquil. Here we show you some of them.
1. INL program attendee (Quito) – USD 32,830 per year
The position requires providing analytical, technical, logistical and administrative support to INL program managers. You must carry out research, analysis and act as an official contracting representative. You will need to write technical documents in English and Spanish.
To apply for this position you must have the following requirements:
- Have a minimum of three years of experience in office administration, management, accounting or procurement.
- Master Microsoft Office, administrative procedures and know how to use the Internet
- Have a university degree in Administration, Business Administration, International Affairs, Finance or related fields
- Have a level 4 of English, which allows you to speak, read and write in that language fluently
2. IRM network technician (Quito) – USD 32,830 per year
Those who apply for this vacancy must have network management and maintenance skills, as well as software and hardware updates. He will also be in charge of the cabling of all the embassy networks, such as OpenNET, Non-Enterpirse Networks, Wi-Fi, among others.
To apply for this position you must have the following requirements:
- Have a minimum of three years of experience in managing, configuring and installing networks, as well as common telecommunications software and hardware such as Cisco and IOS. You must also know how to handle multiple desktop operating systems and mobile devices such as Linux, Android, iOS, VMware and Microsoft products.
- Have a university degree in fields related to networks, technology, engineering, computer systems or computer science.
- Have a level 3 of English and Spanish.
3. Senior FSN researcher (Guayaquil) – USD 40,833 per year
The applicant must maintain high-level contacts with the Police and other security entities. Additionally, she will help protect U.S. government staff, officials and visitors. She will also investigate possible security threats.

- Have at least five years of experience as a drug police officer and have been part of a police or military association.
- Know about operational procedures of the Police and the Government as well as investigation techniques and know about the Ecuadorian legal system.
- Have completed secondary education.
- Have level 3 English and level 4 fluent Spanish.
4. Administrative and program support Rover (Quito) – USD 21,195 per year
Whoever assumes the Rover Program and Administrative Support role will be responsible for providing administrative support, data analysis and reporting, as well as program and project coordination or management support. Additionally, he will be responsible for reviewing correspondence to ensure that all documents meet Department standards.
