President Daniel Noboa participated in the Peace Summit, held in Switzerland and which seeks mechanisms to end the war in Ukraine.

President Daniel Noboa participated this Sunday, June 16, in the Summit for Peace in Ukraine in Bürgenstock (Switzerland). Noboa asked that “the transformative power of dialogue and cooperation to achieve a peaceful solution” to the war between Ukraine and Russia should not be underestimated.
“At this summit, Ecuador has the obligation to make a powerful call to the international community to dialogue and negotiate. These are the only paths to reconciliation and lasting peace,” Noboa highlighted in his speech at the plenary session of the second and final day.
Noboa also wanted to reiterate that Ecuador “respects the principles of the Charter of Human Rights and international law. It is a fundamental principle maintained by our Government and our people,” and highlighted the urgency of peace in Ukraine “due to the impact of the conflict.” Worldwide”.
“We understand the complex challenges that this conflict has caused, and we hope that peace and prosperity will prevail after it so that future generations will have a better world,” said the President.
The conference is hosted by Switzerland and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It aims to provide a platform for dialogue leading to a peace solution in Ukraine.
The invitation to President Noboa was based on Ecuador’s non-permanent membership in the United Nations (UN) Security Council , for the period 2023-2024.
