US Elections 2012: Obama Transparency is Investigated

Recently the Obama campaign has questioned mercilessly the openness of Mitt Romney’s candidature, however when it comes to transparency, the president isn’t exactly an open book.

Several watchdog groups complain that US President Barack Obama has not fulfilled his open-government promises. In recent months Republican leaders in Congress have discussed the secrecy of his administration.

Last Tuesday Romney posted a list on its website citing several reports that question the administration’s transparency. Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul said “President Obama has run one of the least transparent administrations in American history.”

The complaints against Obama have little to do with his financial records. Meanwhile Romney has maintained some distance with such investigations. (AV)
